Live Life like it's breathing

Live Life Like It's Breathing

Every time we take life in it is like a giant in breath, but sometimes we get so into taking life in that we forget the out breath (or processing) of what we have absorbed. So in essence we are holding our breath. Breathe in deeply and let the natural ebb and flow of life’s rhythmic breath take you to a new plane. We can’t have only the in breath and we can’t have only the out breath. We must have both. One following the other in continuous succession. A High Point

I’ve been at a high point recently in my spirit. I’ll be 40 in just a couple of months and I’m finding that I’ve stopped caring as much what others think, and I’m more in touch with who I am and what I want. I’m also growing more and more into my voice. I’m setting healthier boundaries and just saying what’s truly in my heart. I find that I won’t put up with situations and cycles that feel toxic. I’m starting to value the quality of my life and it’s beautiful! Just Breathe I recently heard a story told by an ex monk about breathing and how it is the only thing about us that we carry with us through our entire lives. After hearing his lovely story I had breathing on my mind and I focused more on conscious breathing for that entire day. It really is fascinating that every part of our physical being from our skin to our hair and every other part is used up and replenished over time so we are reborn over and over again in a physical sense, but we always keep breathing. And in many ways we grow and change within our soul as well. At each age and stage we are a little different than we were before. In fact it is quite fascinating to see the way some of us really morph into something completely new and different at each phase of life. Yet we are still breathing. The first breath we took on the day we were born is still our first breath and we will keep breathing until we take our last breath and die. Breathing takes us into every repetitive process that is our lives. And so I was thinking about the spiritual parallels in how we breathe as well. The In Breath Every time we take life in it is like a giant in breath, but sometimes we get so much into taking life in that we can forget the out breath ( or processing ) of what we have absorbed. So in essence we are holding our breath. This leads to burnout, stress, and being overwhelmed with our lives. When we are in this state we can stagnate and turn inward. This affects our relationships, our work and even our level of joy. How Do We Practice The Out Breath? It seems to take more work and practice for many of us to breathe out in a spiritual/ emotional sense. Much of this has to do with a culture that pushes us to do what needs doing and repress the rest... to suck it up and just keep keeping on. As I am aging I am feeling more conscious of how I breathe out or process my life. For me it’s through practices like meditation, writing, or playing music. It’s those things we can get lost in that take all sense of time away. After an out breath I feel so refreshed that breathing in life w all it’s ups and downs and challenges and failures, losses and wins, feels more natural. It’s like I put gas in my automobile or wind in my sails and I’m propelled forward with gusto when I was barely puttering along before. The out breath fosters peace, centeredness and balance. With that flow and ease comes a clearer sense of who we are and what we want, and since we value ourselves and our peace more we aren’t as likely to let things in that rock our boat. So just breathe in deeply and let the natural ebb and flow of life’s rhythmic breath take you to a new plane. We can’t have only the in breath and we can’t have only the out breath. We must have both. One following the other in continuous succession.

Just Breathe.
